The Maharashtra Government considers that even holding a rally to mark the 26/11 anniversary is a security risk. It has denied permission to All India Anti-terrorism front to organize a rally to remember the victims of the 26/11.
26/11 is the biggest terrorist attack on Indian soil and it took almost 72 hours to defeat the terrorists. It is a Pak-sponsored attack that shook the whole country and took India to the brink of war. Every year, rallies are organized to mark the anniversary of the attack. But, this year the Maharashtra government found the holding of the rally a security risk. All India anti-Terrorism Front president Maninder Jeet Singh Bitta, himself is a victim of terrorism and has escaped several attempts on his life.
Are the Maharashtra Government and Delhi’s UPA trying to water down the memories of 26/11? Is it because of the approaching elections? These are the questions that the nation is asking.
